How might color affect YOU?

For many years designers and therapists alike were aware of the effects color could have on their clients’ moods. Today we have a better understanding of why this is the case.

It is well understood that everything vibrates at certain rates. People have a resonance; so do rocks. The colors of the rainbow vibrate at the same frequency as the sounds in a musical scale. Wouldn’t it have been great to be a part of the studies that proved this fact?

People enjoy music and rhythm; we are drawn to color, as well. Just a glimpse of Mother Nature’s gifts will bring relaxation to us and enhance our well being.

The colors in the rainbow help our organs to be more efficient. There is a specific color that can stimulate an organ or a gland and you can be assured of the correct color by performing a simple muscle test or using a pendulum.

The energy of color can alleviate symptoms. One of my favorite examples to cite in explaining how this is accomplished is to tell you about the day my friend needed inspiration. She was feeling stuck in her work and called me to ask what color she should use and inquired how to apply it. I suggested she use PURPLE to stimulate the creativity and inspiration in her brain, so she found a purple ribbon and tied it as if it were a headband. She called later in the day to report that she was amazed at how much more productive and focused she felt after applying that purple ribbon!

It’s important to note that when we use color, we need to apply it correctly. For example, if someone in your family has a headache, the logical choice of color to ameliorate the discomfort would be purple. By testing the color with a simple muscle test, that choice would be affirmed with strong muscles. If green or any color other than purple were tested in the same way, the results would likely be quite different.

I’d like to share the list of chakra colors as they align with the body organs. I will also include the corresponding functional component because I think you will be interested in that, as well:

The Brain has to do with memory, imagination, and ideals. PURPLE can stimulate brain function.

The Throat is delineated in two parts: Expression-DARK BLUE and LIGHT BLUE can make for comfortable choices.

The Thymus is the seat of our immune system. BLUE GREEN can enhance this gland and empower us with courage.

Our Heart equates with forgiveness, generosity and money. GREEN can bring harmony to this area.

The Pancreas and Liver are located in our solar plexus. These have to do with acceptance and contentment. YELLOW can bring cheer to this part of the body.

Kidneys are all about safety and security and depend on ORANGE for balance and enhancement.

The Tailbone denotes creation, action and decision making. RED can easily and effortlessly nourish this part of our being.

There are myriad ways to apply these colors. Some people report using pieces of fabric against their skin, others use crayons to make a colored mark on a body part. I suppose my friend could have drawn a purple line on her forehead instead of wearing a ribbon! If you simply pretend your finger is a colored pencil and write a color on a body part, you will experience results, because this is all about INTENTION. We are, after all, working with energy! Sometimes the change you seek can come from simply changing your shirt! Sometimes you can even place a crayon on a photograph of the person who needs the energy of a certain color. Those results may astonish you!

Life is meant to be enjoyed in full color. Experiment with color for yourself. Play with it! See what wondrous results you can create! Have fun with your life!
